Cities That Should Have a Football Team
Cities that should have a football team are the populous and thriving cities across the United States, Canada and even Europe that are deserving of a home National Football League team. Many of these cities have nearby teams or hosted teams in the past but none currently have an NFL team to call their own.
Of the biggest cities in America, Los Angeles is the biggest without its own NFL team and easily one of the best sports cities in the US. Sure they have the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins in NCAA Football but as of the 2012 season, no NFL team occupies the City of Angels. The Bay Area has the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego has the Chargers but since the Rams left for St. Louis in 1995, Los Angeles has been without a pro team.
But it's not just Southern California that constantly makes the list of places that deserve an NFL team. Las Vegas, Nevada, is a popular pick for where fans would like to see a pro football franchise spring up, as are other Southwest cities like San Antonio, Texas, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Even others want to see the National Football League expand internationally. The Buffalo Bills already almost serve the Toronto, Canada, market, another city that could house an NFL team, but rumors of putting a permanent team in places like London, England, Mexico City, Mexico, and Quebec City, Canada, have also been heard.
Adding or moving NFL franchises is a highly debated topic on which not everyone will ever agree. Some want to see more action and closer but others argue that expansion means only more bad teams in the NFL. But what fun would sports be if fans didn't argue all the time?
