People We Loved to Hate in 2011

The people we loved to hate in 2011 includes those that irritated us on reality television, those that refused to understand their 15 minutes of fame had expired and a whole slew of people who for one reason or another became enemy number one to the general public. Be it from overexposure in the media, like a certain reality starlet who filed for divorce 72 days after a highly publicized multi-million-dollar wedding (Kim Kardashian), someone who left us shaking our heads at her repeated brushes with the law and 15-minutes stints in jail (Lindsay Lohan) or anyone in between, these people stood out in the year 2011 and not for good reasons.

It's always easy to hate on athletes, especially if they play for a rival team, but a certain few earned almost unanimous hate from fans for one reason or another. Tim Tebow, the bible-thumping Denver Broncos quarterback, and Cam Newton, the Heisman-winner who may or may not have been sold to the highest bidder in college, each reached this level of love and hate.

Then there's a completely different category of those we loved to hate in 2011, those who didn't necessarily do anything horrible but simply those stars who were so publicized that it made us sick. The Kardashians are one example of those types but they are certainly not the only ones. The cast of "The Jersey Shore," like Snooki and the Situation, the cast of the "Twilight" series, such as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, and others repeatedly topped tabloid and entertainment media outlet headlines en route to easily breaking the point of overexposure.

Whatever these people did, or didn't do, during the year 2011, each found a way to get on our nerves, disgust us or simply turn us off during the year. While the calendar is changing, unfortunately as 2012 draws near many of these people we loved to hate in 2011 are not going away anytime soon.
