Super Bowl 2013 Predictions
What are your Super Bowl picks this year? This season's biggest contenders for Super Bowl XLVII on February 3, 2013, include several teams who were extremely dominant all season. Some were dominant early on and then lost a bit of steam along the way, but they still made the playoffs. Now that the regular 2012 NFL season is over, it's time to start thinking about the team that will win it all: the coveted Lombardi Trophy. The 2013 Super Bowl, by the way, will be played at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Lousiana. Kickoff time is set for 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS (though there will no doubt be hours and hours of pre-game buildup, too).
Do you believe the Super Bowl winner will come from the AFC? If so, you're not alone. The AFC has some seriously strong contenders in the playoffs, including the Denver Broncos led by MVP frontrunner Peyton Manning, the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots and, yes, the Houston Texans (even though they are the aforementioned team that faltered a bit late in the season). And don't count out the Indianapolis Colts, led by rookie QB Andrew Luck, either.
As for the NFC, several key contenders are expected to come on strong in the playoffs, including the San Francisco 49ers, the Atlanta Falcons and the Green Bay Packers (never count the Pack out). And certainly, the Washington Redskins should be considered. They had an epic year under rookie QB Robert Griffin III. So did the Seattle Seahawks, led by a monster defense and another rookie QB, Russell Wilson.
Only one thing is certain: Anything can happen during the NFL playoffs, and it remains to be seen at this point who'll make it to the biggest game of all. But that never stops us from speculating, hoping, wishing and/or praying to the football gods for miracles. Vote vote vote, and feel free to sound off in the comments about your pick (and why you picked them).
