Generally, the line between horror movies and Children's movies is pretty distinct. The following movies, however, fall under a whole new category: Children's Horror. (Don't look for that on Netflix though, because you won't find it.)

You know what's terribly underrated by American theatres? Anime. 2009 was no different. We had one Miyazaki film. That's about it. This list showcases the movies American should have seen but didn't because they were watching Monsters vs Aliens. For those of you fallen victim to crappy American animation, take a tour into the world of Japanese animation. 2009 was a pretty good year for Japanese anime movies, in terms of the quality of movies that was released. With franchise movies, stand alone movies, and a Miyazaki film, this list will satisfy those hungry for good animated movies.

My favourite films of the 21st Century! (Released in UK Cinemas from 1st Jan 2000)
In alphabetical order because it's just impossible to rank horror, documentary, arthouse and pixar against each other!
(Though if you really really really push me I would have to put the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy at Number #1...)
This is a work in progress - I've still got a list of about 100 movies to see from this year hence the list is only 85 long. (Hopefully it will be nearer 100 in a few months!)
I've seen over 1000 films in the last decade, I try and watch every film released in london that get average reviews or better, regardless of genre.

In 2009, we saw acclaimed actor John Turturro climb a real Egyptian pyramid to call in an airstrike on a pair of CGI robot testicles. In other words, it was something of a disappointing year. Here are some of the films that failed to meet our (often extremely low) expectations of quality in 2009. Not the worst films of the year per se; these are just the ones that deserved to be better… a LOT better.
