• Futuristic science books, fiction & fantasy are a tech toy tease. From NASA space colonies to flying cars, science is long overdue on all the things Robert Zemeckis, James Cameron and Stanley Kubrick have been promising us since birth. And I for one will not rest until science delivers on my damn time traveling Delorean. After all, with all the time they spent perfecting botox, they could certainly have figured out the personal cloaking device already. It's time to keep science honest people!
  • Building electroncs is one of the coolest hobbies because you can get most of your parts for FREE. Yes, FREE. Including free shippng. You just need to know where to go and how to ask for them. Many companies have "sample parts" available and the ones that don't can usually be talked into it if you know how to approach them.

He ranked the stars he could see in terms of their brightness, with 1 representing the brightest down to 6 representing the faintest. Source: Astro. • First-person shooters first became popular on the PC, so it's no surprise that the best first-person shooters ever made can be accessed from the hard drive. Hopefully, when that hard drive gets infected with viruses, Norton will make anti-virus software that lets you blast them with a rocket launcher. Until that fateful day comes to pass, here are the top 10 first-person shooters for the PC, in no real order. Sure, some of them are also available on the consoles, but we all know that a mouse is far better suited for your trigger finger than a stupid controller. Reaction time ftw!
  • The Boss Battle is the video game equivalent of an orgasm - climactic, exhausting and totally worth it. Of course, not all boss battles are created equal. Some gaming 'gasms are just better than others. From Final Fantasy to Diablo III these are the hardest (and most satisfying) boss battles to beat - at least in my opinion.

  • Top 10 Hardest Video Game Boss Battles
The Boss Battle is the video game equivalent of an orgasm - climactic, exhausting and totally worth it. Of course, not all boss battles are created equal. Some gaming 'gasms are just better than others. From Final Fantasy to Diablo III these are the hardest (and most satisfying) boss battles to beat - at least in my opinion.
  • The Real Reasons PS3 is Better Than Xbox 360
Ten of the lesser-known reasons why the PS3 is better than Xbox 360.
  • Top 10 Most Disappointing Games of The Last Decade
A game doesn't have to flop to be disappointing. Some of the 2000's biggest hits managed to bore, or failed to impress, or even pissed off a lot of gamers. Madden is the same Madden again some more. Call of Duty 2 is awesome if you like war with no blood. And the Beatles don't play well with others, at least not in Rock Band. So, sorry, goodbye, thanks for playing.
  • Top 10 Most Ridiculous iPhone Apps
Apple's iPhone is most certainly an awesome, wet-dream-inducer of a super gadget. And for a fanboy such as myself, it is difficult to see it as anything other than a gift from the gods. But, I can't help but notice that the App store is incredibly over-inflated. Sure, there are a gazillion useful, well designed, and functional applications to be had for free or cheap, but there is also a huge pool of terribly useless and ridiculous wastes of space. If I could, I would list them all here, but instead I have chosen my top ten. These ten apps are so incredibly past the "this is stupid" line, that it is almost embarrassing. Most of these, even more mindbogglingly, are the most popular apps in the whole catalog. I'll admit that some of this is open to interpretation. But really, if you see this list and then have an intense desire to go download one of these apps, something is seriously wrong. Seriously wrong.
  • Games Afraid to Compete with the Modern Warfare Release
Buzz around the modern warfare release is that this call of duty RPG might be the best call of duty yet. The 'Modern' call of duty 6 already has other '09 video games cowering from its multiplayer modern warfare might, particularly as the November 10 release date draws closer. This isn't even exaggeration, all of these games have seen their release dates pushed back because their developers are too afraid of competing with Modern Warfare 2. This game has alreayd pwned at least 12 other games, and it's not even on the shelves yet. If that ain't badass, I don't know what is.
  • 2009's top Ten disappointments of The Video Game Industry
2009 was a record year for the Video Game Industry. With Modern Warefare 2 boasting the biggest launch of any entertainment medium ever, along with other great games like Brutal Legend, Uncharted 2, Demon Souls, Assassins Creed II, Street Fighter IV, and Resident Evil 5. Unfortunately however with all the great Games, came a healthy dose of disappointments. Releases (consoles, updates, and games) ran the gambit between the good, the bad, and the once seen you may never unsee. So what were those Disappointments in the Video Game Industry in 2009? Well I'm sure if your reading this you have a pretty good idea.
  • 5 Distributions that changed Linux

  • Top 10 PSP Games of 2009
2009 was a big year for the Playstation Portable System, probably the biggest year to date—of course next year is looking to be even bigger! And though there are still a few PSP games that are due out next month, the plethora of quality releases are already sitting on store shelves. But one question remains, as to which games were the best. I have my own opinion, as I’m sure most everyone does. But instead of just basing this list off my tastes, I decided to do a more unbiased look at these games, by researching the scores given to these games, by review sites, and present them as the Top Rated PSP Games of 2009.
  • My Top 10 Lightweight & Durable Digital Cameras
    by mollie
These are the Dan Merkel Gallery-approved recommendations for the best lightweight and durable digital cameras. Because you don't always want to carry your big ol' SLR everywhere. Note that none of these have less than a 4.0 resolution, because if you're going to go less than 4.0, you really shouldn't even be bothering with a camera at all.
