Internet download is the new record store, as digital albums are the new vinyl. These artists dominated 2010 in the music download industry, racking up an admirable amount of revenue for themselves by becoming part of the 10 most downloaded albums on the Internet for 2010.

Thanks to Billboard magazine, much like record sales are monitored at brick-and-mortar stores, digital downloads from the likes of iTunes and Amazon.com are now also tracked. Similarly, much like he took the top spot in the 2010 best selling albums, rapper Eminem held the top spot among digital album downloads for his release of "Recovery."

The Detroit rapper had some good competition on both fronts though with pop star Lady Gaga hot on his tail with her album "The Fame" and country singer Taylor Swift coming in third with her release of "Speak Now."

Even a collaboration album, created for charity, reached the top spots in this list with the record "Hope for Haiti Now" coming in fourth. Featuring the likes of Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Madonna, Jay-Z, Bono and Rihanna, the record benefitted the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
