10 Most Influential Australian Artists of All Time

Vin - Got into these guys later in high school when I started listening to Triple J. They played a lot of their songs from the first album Sound Shattering Sound and I couldn't get enough of it. I think it was because of the raw sound and it was a style of Aussie rock I'd never heard of, which made get into it so much. When I first heard Doctor Doctor I was blown away and made me want to start writing music like that. Their second album Are You Involved? was a perfect progression from their first album for me. Their song writing and production took on a whole new level. The bass line in Fast Girl was one of the coolest things I'd ever heard and still go back and listen to it now.

Luke - I loved the grunge and grittiness that came with their debut album Highly Evolved. They brought something new and daring to the Australian music industry, which has influenced a lot of other bands. Their live shows were hectic and I don't think they really gave a f**k. It was good.

Luke - I know that one of the other guys will list Silverchair (and I know we are meant to be listing bands), but I think Mr Johns is one of Australias most influential musicians. Anything that he has worked on I have had a massive interest in. From his work with The Dissociatives to his production on The Scares album Oozevoodoo. A living legend and my favourite Australian artist.

Ryan - Their album 'Since I left You' is mind blowing. It leaves me in awe the way their music can be so incredibly original, whilst consisting largely of samples. It really makes you want to push your creative boundaries as an artist. I'm yet to hear anything like it.

Ryan - One of the first Australian bands that I listened to that started to blend rock and and electronic music with a modern edge. I'm a sucker for modern music that channels 80's production values and pop tendencies. Their 2008 album 'In Ghost Colours' is still an Australian favorite of mine.
