Top Companies to Work For
A list of the greatest companies to work for. The list was started with Fortune Magazine's top 100 best companies (Feb. 6, 2012), but is now opened to users to add and vote on great employers based on their work experience. Rankings are based on criteria like job growth, paid healthcare, paid sabbaticals, and overall employee happiness, data collected through extensive employee surveys throughout corporate America. Topping the list at #1 best company to work for, Google is known for its perks, like in-office bocce courts and lots of free food. Starbucks notably received 7.6 million job applications in 2011 - more than any other company on the list - and while Microsoft lost the most employees, it still got more than 500,000 job applications. Darden Restaurants (owner of Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Longhorn Steakhouse) is the largest employer on the list, with 169,500 full-time and part-time employees.
