Every Metal-head (and a good number of non Metal fans) worth their salt knows about the big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax), Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Motor Head, ect.

But then there's (like with any genre) a huge amount of underrated talent, so I present a list that shows bands that though perhaps not obscure or totally unknown are deserving of more attention and their key tracks and albums.
