The wildest and craziest celebrities often suffer from drug and alcohol abuse. Here's a list of 16 drug-induced celebrity overdose deaths that, given the star's lifestyle and behavior, we should have seen coming. Celebrities OD more often than we'd like them to, but this list should at least warn us of what we should've seen coming. Video news reports and family/friend stories included next to each celebrity when available. Sadly, there are a lot of famous people with depression, which often ends in tragedy.

    Scotty Beckett

    An American child actor who starred in Our Gang and Rocky Jones, Space Ranger series.

    He grew up before our eyes and with a series of arrests. To name a few, drunk driving, assault, drug possession, and carrying a concealed weapon.

    Before long, Scotty was found dead at the age of 38 from a suspected overdose of barbiturates and alcohol.

    Bridgette Andersen

    An American child actress best known for her title role in the 1982 comedy Savannah Smiles. She struggled with an addiction to heroin in her teens and was never close to her family. She died on May 18, 1997 from an accidental overdose of alcohol and drugs at the age of 21.

    This is a clip from the last thing she was in before her untimely death.

    Anissa Jones

    An American child actress known for her role as Buffy on the CBS sitcom Family Affair.

    After the show was cancelled in 1971, Anissa unsuccessfully auditioned for film roles, and was found dead in a bedroom of a 14-year-old friend with what her coroner has said was the most severe drug overdoses he had ever seen.

    Judy Garland

    Best known for her lead role in the movie The Wizard of Oz. The singer and actress struggled with weight gain and drug addiction for much of her life. She was married 5 times, and at several times in her life, she attempted suicide but eventually died of an accidental overdose of barbiturates at the age of 47.

    Marilyn Monroe

    Actress praised for her work in films like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Some Like it Hot, and The Seven Year Itch, as well as alltime sex and fashion icon. C'mon, she was Marilyn Monroe.

    Her death from an overdose of barbiturates was conjectured to be a probable suicide, a reflection of the illness, personal problems, and a reputation of being unreliable and difficult to work with in the later years of her life.

    Some mystery surrounds the exact cause of her death, though, as described in the video to the right.

    You idiots who say these people did not die of drug overdoses are retarded. They all died of causes related to drug addiction. Every single one of them had a history of drug abuse and died well before a normal healthy person should. These COD's such as "upper-respiratory infection" are secondary. They are caused by active drug addiction. Who cares if it was a drug overdose or respiratory infection caused by drug addiction? The result is the same.

      It is unfortunate to see someone struggle with drug or alcohol addiction, we can all agree on that. There are however other alternative to conventional alcohol rehab centers. We all have the natural abilities to choose the life we want.

    Cory did not die of an overdose and it was pretty clear on the reality show that he was in treatment. However he suffered from cardiac issues due to his drug use during his teenage years. During the teen years your organs, pulmonary, and cardiac muscles are forming and maturing the opiates caused weakness to his vital organs and lymphatic systems causes him to catch a virus and not be able to fight it even with a course of the strongest iIV.antibiotics. He will be greatly missed may he finally be at peace.

    there were times on her reality show that she was almost incoherent. it was only a matter of time before it happened if she didn't get any help. as long as they made money off of her then nobody cared enough to step in and say no more. she was exploited and used until she was no more.

    Actresses are known to be very insecure and I think Brittney fell into that category. She overdosed by accident, I believe. She was sick and taking pills. Such a loss of a great , young actress and women.

    Another gorgeous, talented, disturbed young women led astray by the hounding "fame monster". She died way to soon. she had talent and charisma like no other. Was it really an overdose taken at her hands, ot the hands of another person. We will never know.

    What a gorgeous young women, steered down the wrong path, not taken care of by her handlers and let to die with drugs in her system. She needed help not drugs and where were the "people" that really cared. They ate her up and spit her out. She had "it" and what a shame "it' destroyed her.

    It was so apparent that she was abusing and over medicating some kind of narcotic. When its that apparent the person is too high to even be aware that they are so dysfunctional and their life is spiraling so out of control and if no one steps in and does some form of intervention the chances of recovery or even staying alive becomes almost nil.

    All autopsy repoprts have ruled out recreational drug overdose being the cause of Brittany's death. All drugs in her system were prescription and within the prescribed dosage amount. She did not overdose. And her husband died of the same pneumonia/anemic coplications a few months later. Also ruled to have no inappropriate drugs or excessive quantities of legal drugs in his system. Get facts straight please.
