2013 Best Actress Predictions

List of predictions for the Best Actress winner at the 2013 Oscars. (The 2013 Academy Awards will honor films opening in 2012.) Though most of these films have not yet been released, many people just based on the descriptions or early set reports have already devised theories of who next year's most honored actresses will be.

Women featuring prominently on the lists include a number of women who have previously been nominated - or won - Oscars in acting categories. These include Sandra Bullock (a winner for "The Blind Side"), Meryl Streep (a multiple nominee and winner, most recently for 2011's "The Iron Lady") and Viola Davis (a nominee in 2011 for "The Help.") The list has several newcomers as well, including "Bridesmaids" star Kristen Wiig, who will appear in "Imogene," about a troubled playwright who moves in with her mother. Young newcomer Quvenzhane Wallis has also been mentioned as a possible Oscar contender for her work in the Sundance hit "The Beasts of the Southern Wild."
