2013 Best Picture Oscar Predictions

List of 2012 movies most likely to win the Best Picture Academy Award at the 2013 Oscar ceremony. The Best Picture race officially begins at the opening of the Fall movie season, when Hollywood studios release some of the most anticipated films from the film industry's most beloved and esteemed filmmakers. But in reality, the competition begins heating up soon after the previous year's Best Picture is announced. That's when the insiders begin looking to the upcoming slate and handicapping certain movies to go all the way. (Of course, this doesn't take into account the many surprises that can come up during any moviegoing season, based largely on how audiences receive a film. Few would have suspected in the early stages of the year that, say, "Crash" was destined for Oscar gold.)
