3 Retro recipes and classic snacks that will save you money and remind you of your childhood. As a kid of the 80's, I am no stranger to recipes that were passed along from generation to generation. Although it was always fun eating TV dinners while watching Wheel of Fortune and heating up that Hungry Man dessert brownie, I thoroughly enjoyed when my parents actually cooked something. In fact, when I went to college, a lot of these recipes worked for my budget and time. What college kid wants to stay home cooking foie gras or drumming up some recipe for stuffed beef sirloin? That may sound good, but if you don't have the time for it, you might as well not even touch it. The following are recipes from the days of yore (well, my days of yore) that I know you will enjoy.

Fluffer Nutter
Yeah, I said "Fluffer". Get your mind out of the gutter.
Ingredients:
Two slices of toasted bread
Butter
Peanut Butter
Sliced Banana
Marshmallow Cream
Directions:
Toast bread.
Butter bread.
Spread peanut butter on bread.
Place sliced bananas on peanut butter.
Spread or "glop" marshmallow cream on top of bananas.
For those who are more health conscious than the rest, you can put the marshmallow cream on the side and microwave it to make a dipping sauce for the rest of the sandwich.
Get your grub on. -

Eggs n Toast in a Glass
Forward: There were no pictures of a recipe like this on Google images. Success! It's an original!
Ingredients:
4 to 6 big eggs
2 pieces of your favorite toast
Salt
Pepper
Directions:
Softy boil your eggs (this usually takes about 4-5 minutes).
Toast your toast.
Take each egg out of it's shell (Duh!).
Break one egg up at the bottom of the glass.
Tear up the toast.
Put toast on top of egg in glass.
Repeat however many times you need to fill up the glass.

Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients:
Tater Tots
Green Beans
Ground Beef (or turkey, or tofurkey, whatever)
Cream of Mushroom Soup
Cheddar Cheese
Directions:
In whatever casserole dish you would like to fill, empty out whatever meat your are using. Top that off with the cream of mushroom soup and a layer of green beans. Put a layer of tots over that, and then a layer of cheese. Repeat.
Put it in the oven for 30-45 minutes at 350 degrees.
These ingredients are super cheap, you would be stupid not to try this easy recipe. Yes, STUPID. You could probably make it all "gourmet" if you wanted to, a la the picture to the left, but it is ultimately your choice.
