That's my little brother. And I love him dearly (watch the video, you'll see one of the many reasons why). But, improbably enough, the kid has decided to take a giant, 13-year old rebellion-sized poop on years of family tradition and be a massive Celtics fan. And, I can't bear to see him see his team to victory over mine - again. Hey, just because I'm the bigger sister doesn't mean I have to be the bigger person.

We've got to deal with earthquakes, fires, floods and those girls from The Hills. I think we've earned the right to have something positive to celebrate around here. I'm not saying Boston isn't great - I've been there and I really do like it there. But it sure ain't no LA. And the Celtics, with their 'oh, somebody breathed on me and I just fell down like I'd been fouled by a ten ton truck' style of play can't hold a candle to our Lakers.

Seriously, need I say more? If Kevin Garnett's crazy eyes win, the terrorists win.

Last year, the Lakers came just a few points short of getting me some free Jack In the Box tacos (http://ggower.blogspot.com/2009/01/we-want-tacos-la-lakers-jack-in-box.html). Since the Lakers owe me tacos plus interest now, I figure I'll just take my payment in the form of a championship win over the Celtics. Twice as tasty, but half the calories.

Forget how you feel about Kobe. You can't help but root for Fish. He's an NBA icon - talented, technical and incredibly graceful, and he definitely deserves this win. Add in my one true love, Pau Gasol, who took that 'too-soft' label everyone kept throwing at him in 2008 and shoved it down the throats of anyone who watched him play this season, and you've got two good reasons why the Lakers deserve to take that championship ring.
