50 Bands I've Seen In Concert... That I Remember
melissaoshea My musical taste is pretty random, but the one constant is that I love to see live shows. Here are the first 50 concerts that popped into my head when I started this list. Rock music, Hard rock, Folk rock More“ My friends and I would see the Allman Brothers every year at Jazz Fest. The best was one year we were dancing around and I looked to my right... and there was one of my professors shirtless partying with his friends. We just gave each other the nod and continued enjoying the show. „ - 2
Pop music, Disco“ My first concert. And it was at MSG! My mom covered my eyes when Andy (in his gold lame outfit) turned around and shook his butt to the crowd. Don't tell, but I peeked! „ - 3
Alternative rock, Rock music, Pop rock More“ I've seen them so many times... they're great performers. Most memorable time was with Anastasia at Radio City. „ - 4
Rock music, Pop rock, Pop music More“ Saw them at Jones Beach with my mom as a kid... great summer band and childhood memories. „ - 5
Swing, Big band“ "You and me and the bottle makes 3 tonight!" ~ Melissa as heard at The Derby „ - 6
Classical music, Rock music, Hard rock More“ Believe it or not, I've only seen Billy once... and it was in New Orleans! „ - 7 Alternative rock, Rock music, Blues-rock More“ I saw the very large John Popper at Tip's in New Orleans. He's a sweaty man... but he sure can play a harmonica! „
- 8 Rock music, Hard rock, Pop rock More“ I never thought I'd be a Bon Jovi fan until I saw them live at the Garden. I do believe I was a Jersey girl for 2 years... oh well, fortunately that phase passed. „
- 9 Folk music, Rock music, Hard rock More“ I can't believe I hadn't seen Bruce perform until last year at the Meadowlands with Kristen. We got to meet Southside Johnny before the show and get our pic with him. It was an AMAZING show. BRUUUUUUCE!!!!!!! „
- 10 Alternative rock, Rock music, Britpop More“ Jane dragged me to this concert at MSG before they really took off... and I quickly became a convert. „
- 11 Rock music, Rock and roll“ Hands down, my favorite college band. Fred, I am with ya!!! Paul once called me at home to apologize for the screw up with a mail order I made... and I was too nervous to say it was me. Dork. „
- 12 Alternative rock, Rock music, Jazz fusion More“ What can I say? I love Dave and have seen him numerous times. I just wish all these drunken 20 year olds didn't as well, so I could go to another show and actually enjoy it! „
- 13 Hard rock, Heavy metal, Glam metal“ I saw Diamond Dave in high school with (I believe) Jon Crystal, Zach and Tara Davis at Nassau Coliseum. Someone stole my handbag from the band room that afternoon and we found it in a trash can in the parking lot. Fortunately, the tickets were still there! „
- 14 Rock music, Psychedelic rock, Blues More“ Oh, he was a Mardi Gras staple in my New Orleans college days! Now he reminds me of Heather's adorable twins dancing to "Right Place, Wrong Time." „
- 15 Alternative rock, Rock music, Pop rock More“ My dad took 7 of us to MSG for Megan's birthday. I think I was the only one screaming for Roger. (I always like the underdog!) Saw them again recently at the China Club (I think Ian thought Jane and I lost our minds) and then at Central Park (which was a surprisingly great show). „
- 16 Rock music, Jazz fusion, Rhythm and blues More“ "September" is probably one of my all time favorite songs. They payed at an event at the Intrepid when I was working there... glad it was free! : ) „
- 17 Rock music, Pop rock, Soft rock More“ Saw him and Clapton one summer when I was on crutches... he's great. „
- 18 Rock music, Hard rock, Pop rock More“ I discovered in college that Clapton truly is God. I've seen him numerous times... love him! „
- 19 Alternative rock, Blues-rock, Rhythm and blues More“ Because "I like cold beverages..." Saw him at the Hammerstein Ballroom, maybe? „
- 20 Pop rock, Soft rock, Synthpop More“ Anyone who knows me, knows that I live for this man. I remember paying $100 to see him when I was in high school with Katie Kelly... and I saw him again TWICE last year with Jane at MSG. Dear god, they were great shows. I think I'd go see him perform every night if I could. Really. „

Rhythm and blues, Funk“ You've got to see this guy and his knee high socks! Love his songs... especially "Happy Song." „ - 22 Pop music, Flamenco, Rumba Flamenca“ No summer party is complete without this band that always reminds me of Megan and Jen... and days at Ole Madrid! "Bamboleo!!!" „
- 23 Alternative rock, Rock music, Pop rock More“ I saw them at some musicfest when I first moved to LA in '94. They were still pretty grungy... I loved them. „
- 24 Rock music, Blues-rock, Psychedelic rock More“ Oooh, this is the infamous June '91 concert where we all know what happened... „
- 25 Traditional pop music, Swing, Jazz-funk More“ I love Harry. I got to see the taping of his Christmas special, so we were up close and personal. He's a super nice guy. „
