The most popular musical artists from the year 2010 include many newcomers to the game, some one-hit wonders and a handful of veteran singers and bands who've stood the test of time. The top 50 from the year are all ranked here, with help from Billboard magazine, based on their performance on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart from 2010.

In what should be no surprise with her many hits and jaw-dropping outfits during 2010, pop star LAdy Gaga came in as the top artist of the year. While country singer Taylor Swift followed in second, rapper Eminem came in third. The Detroit-born Eminem also led for digital album downloads in 2010 and beat out Gaga for the second spot in the best selling albums of the year. Susan Boyle, who finished 12th on this list, sold the most albums in 2010 with her release of "I Dreamed A Dream."

Among other notable artists that were the most popular in 2010 included the likes of Lady Antebellum, Ke$ha, Usher, The Black Eyed Peas and Justin Bieber. Rihanna and Drake rounded out the top 10.
