90+ Controversial Banned Books By   [33 more lists]

Banned books list. This list of banned books contains almost 100 banned books with pictures of their covers. Some of these books are challenged while others are flat-out contraband. You may even recognize some of the most frequently banned books you see on the news. The United States fortunately has few texts on this list and no books in the US are officially banned today. But not every country has an equivalent of the First Amendment. That said, schools in the US have effectively banned books in the past. This list is specifically books banned by governments. Some of them may be famous classics or even one of the top banned books in the world, but they are all unfortunate examples of censorship. Reading a banned book is one of the greatest forms of protest on Earth.
