(Fox)Glee: 5 Reasons You Should Watch (Fox)Glee: 5 Reasons You Should Watch

By ElaineyO | Los Angeles
The new show from Fox, Glee, is the best new show on television this season. Not only is the casting phenomenal, but the show is just damn smart. Can you believe that this show (a show about a high school glee club) is being put out by the same guys that gave us Nip/Tuck. Well is has the same kooky flavor, that's for sure. Although "Glee" may appear to outsiders to be about a glee club full of sunshine, rainbows and sunflowers, it actually deals with real, gritty issues under all of the song and dance (which is AMAZING, by the way). Top it off with the fact that anyone heavily involved with the making of this show is raking some serious dough. The first single from the hit show "Don't Stop Believin'" has already gone GOLD on iTunes. Genius marketing tactic. Hoorah, "Glee". On top of THAT, Madonna has just signed over all of her rights to the show, which is a smart move on her part. I mean, is anyone buying her new music anymore?

The following are reasons YOU should watch the phenomena that is "Glee". Oh yeah, it airs Wednesday nights at 8PM on FOX. You can also watch all of the episodes on Hulu, which is super convenient.

  • Ever crush on your Spanish teacher? Matthew Morrison is the look and the feel of any teacher you have ever had a crush on. Throw in the fact that this dude can sing and dance and the combo is even more hot than you imagined.Matthew was a virtual unknown before the mega success of "Glee". Why? Who the hell knows. But we are certainly glad he is here now. As William Schuester, Morrison plays a perfect teacher and mentor. In the clip to the left, you can definitely see what I am talking about. In the second episode, Mr. Schuester puts together a group called the "Accafellas", which is a throwback to the boy bands of the 80's and 90's. So silly that it gives you goosebumps and makes you want to laugh and cry all at the same time. It's possible.

OMG. Is that the chick from "40 Year Old Virgin" and "Role Models"? AND that one episode of Dawson's Creek as Pacey's mom? Why yes, yes it is. Jane Lynch plays the coach to the Cheerios, the high school cheer squad. She is as funny as she is blunt. Sue Sylvester is a lot more deep than meets the eye. She has struggles of her own that are just beginning to come to life that come out from behind her rough exterior and slap you in the face.

    Finn and Quinn
Finn= Star Quarterback Quinn= Head Cheerleader Perfect couple? One might think, however, Quinn is the head of the Celibacy Club at school. AND she has become pregant. AND she told Finn it happened in the hot tub without them even having sex. AND she neglected to tell Finn that the baby is not his. How is that for a real issue? Adding to that, Finn is the lead man of the glee club and has to deal with all of that shiz.

I know I went from actors to characters. As I am sure this actor (Chris Colfer) is a great guy, his character on the show outshines every other as the token gay guy. Gay football kicker? Ding! AND he scored his first kick after dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". Boo-yah!

    Rachel Berry
Rachel, (Lea Michele) the leading lady of glee club, was raised by two Jewish gay men and from birth she has been determined to win that golden Grammy. Although she will not stop at anything to maintain her star, the girl has got a caring heart. On top of all of her drama, the writers are working up the Quinn-Finn-Rachel love triangle rather nicely. See how she performs to the left. Personally, I like this rendition of the Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown duet better than the original.

It's sad how much their "Don't Stop Believin'" is almost better than the original. But what the hell is this crap about all these lame auto-tune covers of songs? Dont Stop Believin is like the ONE place where they've had REAL Glee club music....so why do I keep watching this freaking show?

What makes you watch Glee more...the characters, the plot, or the music. i mean, if you had to choose one...i know they are hard to separate!
