All "free agents" from the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin and the HBO show "Game of Thrones."  There are several individuals in the Seven Kingdoms who only look out for their own best interest and are not a member of any specific house. Some of these people feign loyalty to the prominent houses of Westeros, while others are sellswords who openly sell their allegiance to the highest bidder.

Who is the most prominent free agent on "Game of Thrones"? Lord Varys is a member of the small council to the King of the Seven Kingdoms. He appears in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series and is played by Conleth Hill on "Game of Thrones." Varys is a eunuch. He is known to have spies all over Westeros and he uses to gain information and power.

Petyr Baelish (AKA Littlefinger) was the Master of Coin serving Robert Baratheon. He appears in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series and is played by Aidan Gillen on "Game of Thrones." Tywin Lannister arranges a marriage between Lord Baelish and Lysa Tully, although Baelish long had feelings for her sister Catelyn. Baelish often orchestrates chaos in order to gain power.

Despite being a wildling, Craster has been known to provide members of the Night's Watch with minimal assistance. He was killed by a man of the Watch, who was angry that Craster was not sharing his food with his starving companions.
