These U.S. cities are unappreciated and often overlooked making them perhaps America's most underrated cities. Most of the time people think of big cities like Los Angeles and New York when they think of the coolest American cities, but there is so much more to the nation than those two hubbubs as shown in this neglected gems.

Baltimore, Maryland, may just be the most underrated city in America, with Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Houston, Texas, not far behind. Others to make the list include Middle America with Kansas City, Missouri, the Midwest United States with Minneapolis, Minnesota, and both ends of the map with Providence, Rhode Island, in the East and Portland, Oregon, in the West.

Some may have astounding architectural landmarks and others may have an exciting nightlife. They'll never be discovered though unless you visit these fantastic cities yourself.
