America's Richest Oilmen By Worlds Richest People Lists [49 more lists]
Each worth more than a billion dollars, America's richest oilmen reign supreme in the United States gas and oil industry as well as among all people in the country. It is no coincidence that the richest oilmen are also some of the richest people in the United States, with many ranking on other top lists from Forbes magazine such as the Forbes 400 as the 400 richest people in America.
Coming in at the top of the list, two brothers, Charles and David Koch, who operate Koch Industries, are worth between $14 and $17.5 billion each. Combined, the Koch brothers blow all other oilmen out of the water in terms of wealth, but also rank atop all others individually too. The next closest competitor, George Kaiser of Kaiser-Francis Oil, is only estimated at a measly $10 billion.
The term "oilmen" suggests that the richest in the oil industry in America are all men, however that is not the case. Coming in 11th, Lynn Schusterman is estimated at $1.5 billion and clearly competes just fine with the males on this list. Schusterman, of Samson Resources, made a name for herself in the industry after taking over the business left by her late husband.
Be them brothers, individuals, men or women, these billionaires are filthy rich and all earned that ridiculous amount of money though the oil business.
