Here's some recipes for all you starving College Kids...and other starving folks of course! Struck me as odd that College Students and Prison Inmates tend to kind of eat the same ways??? Lack of funds and resources on both sides I guess, anyway, figured I'd bring the two together here. Have fun with these recipes!

1 Ramen Noodle

1 Summer Sausage

1 Chilli with/without beans

1 Nacho tortilla chips.

1 Onion

1 Squeeze Cheese

First boil noodles drain and set aside. Chop summer sausage and onion mix together then add Ramen seasoning. Place onion and summer sausage mixture in the microwave for 4 minutes on high, afterwards take out and place to the site. Take tortilla chips and place a large amount on a bowl. Mix water (or milk) with cheese, after warming the cheese until it melts, and blend until smooth and creamy. Take meat and onion mixture over tortilla chips. Next take your chilli and cooked noodles and pour over your chips. Lastly spread your melted cheese over your chips. Viola nachos delight.

one pack of ramen (don’t use the flavoring packet)

1/2 can white chicken (4 oz. can)

cheddar cheese spread

chili garlic sauce

Honey to taste
1 small orange

Microwave ramen for 2 minutes and drain. Stir in cheddar cheese spread. Add small amount of chili garlic sauce. Add honey and chicken and juice from one orange.

Kimchi Ramen Grilled Cheese Sandwich

½ package of ramen, any flavor
½ of the ramen seasoning packet (you wont need other things like a small oil packet or dehydrated vegetables)
handful of kimchi, chopped and squeezed of excess kimchi “juice”
1 tablespoons oil for cooking
2 tablespoon butter, softened
2 thick slices very sturdy bread
handful of mozzarella or jack cheesehandful American or Cheddar cheese

Bring a pot of water to a boil over high heat. Drop the ramen noodles in and cook until the ramen noodles are soft, about 8 minutes (this will depend, obviously).

Drain the ramen noodles of the cooking liquid (use a colander), then put the noodles back into the pot or into a bowl. Pour the contents of half the seasoning packet over the noodles. Toss the noodles to combine. Set aside to prepare sandwich.

Heat olive oil in a frying pan over low heat.

Spread the outside of both slices of bread with softened butter. Place both slices of bread buttered-side down in the oil in the pan. Pile one slice with mozzarella/jack cheese; pile the other slice of bread with American/Cheddar cheese. Cook until bread is toasted and cheese has melted.

Remove the grilled bread with cheese to a plate or cutting board. Pile as much ramen noodles on one slice of the bread as you’d like. Add chopped kimchi on top. Close the sandwich with the other slice of grilled bread and cheese. Press together firmly.

Yield for this recipe  is ONE Sandwich

Ramen Pizza

2 pkgs. Beef Flavor Top Ramen


3 cups water

1/2 lb. ground beef

1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced

15-1/2 oz. jar spaghetti sauce

3 Tbs. Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup onion, chopped

1/2 cup milk

1 egg

8 oz. mozzarella cheese, grated

1 pizza pan

aluminum foil

Cover pizza pan with aluminum foil. Build up foil edges to form about 1/2" tall rim around the pan. Lightly grease the aluminum surface. Cook both packages of Top Ramen noodles in water with pinch of salt. Do not use flavor packets. Drain noodles and set aside. Brown beef, onions and mushrooms together. Drain excess fat.  Stir both flavor packets into meat mixture.  Set aside.  Beat together egg, milk and parmesan cheese. Stir this mixture into Top Ramen noodles. Evenly spread noodle/egg mixture onto pizza pan. Pour spaghetti sauce over noodles. Sprinkle meat mixture over sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden, bubbly brown. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Great for parties!
