Best Comedy Movies of 2011

The best comedy movies of 2011 entertained us, gave us reason to smile and allowed us to slip away from life's problems for a few hours and simply enjoy ourselves as we watched our favorite actors and actresses do what they do best, make us laugh.

Not only did they give us reason to pause and smile, but 2011's best comedy movies were often hilarious takes on situations we can all relate to. From "Horrible Bosses" to "Bridesmaids" from hell, more often than not these tales were just close enough to real life that we can all say we know one person or another who is just like our favorite big screen characters.

Many of the best comedy films of 2011 were romantic comedies, like the similar stories of casual sex in "Friends with Benefits" and "No Strings Attached" and the tales of infidelity like in "The Dilemma" and "Hall Pass."

We also saw several sequels during the year such as the return of the "what just happened?" favorite in "The Hangover: Part 2" and the animated funny film "Kung Fu Panda 2." Even independent films were hilarious during 2011 such as the tale of the serial-killing tire name Robert in "Rubber."

Of course for each of these fantastic comedy films there were equally great action movies, horror movies, and, yes, bad comedy films, but let's not rub it in. Those unfortunate actors, actresses, writers, directors and producers already know we're not laughing with them, we're laughing at them.
