Best Films at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival By Ron Mexico [26 more lists]
Each January, in between the action flicks and swanky award ceremonies, indie film aficionados convene in Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival for 10 days of movies from the freshest cinematic voices working both within the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1981 by actor/director Robert Redford, Sundance has become the premiere film festival for featuring the finest outside-the-box films and talent, and this year's showcase is no different. With a slate that includes 117 feature-length films and names such as Spike Lee, Sean Penn, Melissa Leo, Jesse Eisenberg and even funny guys Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, the 2012 Sundance Film Festival might just be the long-running fest's strongest year yet.
The festival, which kicked off Thursday, Jan. 19 with a screening of the dramady "Hello I Must Be Going," runs through Jan. 29.
