The best free eBooks include a multitude of classics. These free books are available in the public domain, allowing you to download them, for free, into your eReader. Not surprisingly, most of these eBooks I've listed are totally old school, but if you run across a more modern free eBook (fiction or non), please add it to the list. Bookworms who are eager for more new reading (like me) will thank you!

Just because you have a Kindle, Nook, Sony Reader or any other kind of eReader doesn't mean you have to drain your bank account to find great free eBooks. Many of the best books of all-time are simply a click or two away. Books like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' or virtually anything by Jane Austin are yours for the taking at no cost whatsoever. New authors may also list their eBooks for free. You might discover a brand new favorite writer by downloading free eBooks. And if you say you aren't reading enough because it's too expensive, this list proves you have absolutely no excuses!

If you aren't sure where to begin looking for free eBooks, check out this list of the best eBooks sites. Happy (free) reading!
