Best North American Ski Areas for Experts
JimAndelman There are many "Best ski resort" lists. Most of them try to accomodate the fact that different people care about different things: terrain, snow, nightlife, other activities, family friendly, etc. This list is just about the quality of the skiing itself for expert skiers (and boaders, with the exception of the top-rated one).

500 inches of the nation's best snow, falling on amazing terrain. No snowboarders allowed last I checked. - 2
Big mountain, lotsa vert, great steeps and trees. - 3
Whistler-Blackcomb
Simply huge. Lots for everyone. - 4
Like Alta, but a little less snow, lots more snowboards. - 5
Over 300 days of sunshine each year, and still over 400 inches of annual snowfall. Usually open into June. My current home hill.
