Books I have read in 2010 By

It's going to be interesting to see how many books I read in one year.

This is a great example of how one book leads to another, out of the 4 books so far, 3 of them are non-fiction written by journalists.

Feel free to add comments of other books you think I should read, I'm always looking for book recommandations.

I don't know how to add the authors name to the list. So I will just add it down here. "The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander" is written by Jim Defede, a journalist in Miami. "One dead in attic" is by Chris Rose, a journalist in New Orleans. Both great reads celebrating the human spirit in the aftermath of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

I hope your joking Brett! that's horrible you need to start reading! haha sorry to sound like a mother. Hey Megan quick question: if you only had time to read the book on the aftermath of hurricane katrina or 9/11, which one would you read? Sorry i'm very interested in reading one of them but I have a very tight time schedule. thanks!

So sorry to reply so late, I honestly forgot about my list! I have read many more books since these ones were posted and have to get them up. In answer to your question, it all depends on the type of book you're in the mood for. The Hurricane Katrina one is a series of newspaper articles written by a journalist for a newspaper in New Orleans. It can be a bit repeatitive because its weekly articles, but really captures the mood of the city in the aftermath of the disaster.

The 9/11 in Gander is a great look at how complete strangers were a comfort to one another and coped with the confusion of what was going on in the days after such a horrific tragedy. It's a great story of how a very small community was host to a very diverse group of travellers, some who lost family members, others just stranded in small town Newfoundland. It tells the story of a lot of the people at once, but not too complicated that you need to look back as the author tells the story day by day.

Hope this helps, and is not too late!

Hi Megan, if you double-click in the Author field when in Edit mode it brings up a way to add the text. We know we need to make that more clear- we're currently testing a new interface for the listmaking in general that will make things clearer and easier.
