Celebrities, including actors, singers and even presidents have given America's Pastime a shot. Charlie Sheen, for one, is a diehard baseball fan and supports the Cincinnati Reds. Growing up in Santa Monica, Sheen was a star pitcher and shortstop for his high school team. His fastball was once clocked at 85 mph, and had he not been expelled from high school and thus giving up his big league dreams.
Presidents George H.W. and George W. Bush both played baseball at a level slightly higher than Sheen. The Bushes each played baseball at Yale University. W took things a bit further when he became a partial owner of the Texas Rangers, giving new meaning to the celebrity dream of being involved with a professional baseball team. H.W. has been seen at Houston Astros games as well.
There are a lot of celebrities who haven't been mentioned that have played high school baseball. Celebrities love sports, and it's not surprising that baseball is at or near the top of the list for many of the guys on this list.
