Sometimes, an eye patch is all it takes to get some respect.

Nick Fury was a back door pilot for a tv series on Fox. They had two made for tv movies that year for Marvel Comic properties. Nick Fury: Agent of Shield, which I have a bootleg copy of back in Seattle, and a pilot movie for a Generation X movie w/ Finola Hughes as Emma Frost and Matt Frewer as the bad guy.

I had no idea that was a pilot...thought it was just a standalone. Right on. These are all new things...I enjoy the learning. Did the Generation X one ever get released?

It did air on Fox. I actually taped it onto VHS and kept it for YEARS. Now you can find it only at bootleg booths at low rent comic conventions. (And under the table at comic con.) You should also check out for sheer morbidity, the unreleased Fantastic Four from Roger Corman, it was a ploy to keep the rights so they wouldn't revert to Marvel. He then sold the rights to Fox for a huge chunk of change. And there is also a really good quality Gen 13 film around on bootleg. Disney made it and was prepping ti for release when Jim Lee sold Wildstorm to DC. Disney had no desire to promote a competitor (DC is owned by Time Warner) and only release the movie in a few countries in the Asian Pacific to fulfill contracts.

Wait a sec...someone gave ROGER CORMAN a shot at Fantastic Four? No friggin' way. That's strange and cool and strange....I've wanted to see the Gen 13 one for a while...

Oh. My. God. I bow to your patch-related superiority. Also: I second the amazement on the Hoff as Nick Fury. How did that happen? How do I get to see that?

I KNOW, right? Apparently it's been out of print for a while, but I bet you anything they re-release it when they make the new one with Sam Jackson.

wow, i don't know whether to thank you for making a highly entertaining list for the end of a long week, or to be upset that you both brought to my attention that David Hasselhoff actually played Nick Fury, AND that you forced me to look at a photo of that... WOW, ha
