Car and Driver recently did a list of the 10 least expensive cars to own. The list takes into account insurance and fuel prices, as well as the cost of the car itself. This is important as many car buyers tend to tunnel vision on the cost of car itself when shopping, while shrugging off the important cost of ownership and operation/maintenance. There are some pretty decent vehicles on this list; a car like the Smart Fortwo is even a favorite auto among many people. If you are frugal, or simply watching your budget then this is the car list for you.
