This chronological list of Popes is ordered from Pope Alexander I to Pope Zephyrinus. I have included a lot of pictures. Pope Pius I was the original Pope who decreed that Easter should always be held on a Sunday. As the head of the Roman Catholic Church and the Bishop of Rome, it is the Pope's esteemed duty to spread the gospel of Jesus throughout the Holy See and interpret God's will so Catholics may enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Many Popes, especially these earlier ones, achieved sainthood and are celebrated with feasts to this day.
