A complete list of DVD manufactures world wide. This list includes creators of DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, and DVD data discs. Developed in the mid 90's, the Digital Versatile Disc has proven itself to be a resilient media format. Although HD-DVD and Blu-Ray were designed to replace it in 2006, the DVD format is still in wide use. While DVD-Video discs are not hi-definition, there is plenty of content available, such as older television shows, that gain little advantage with HD. DVD's are easy to use and universal (even Blu-Ray players are backwards compatible with them). The DVD format should continue to be with us for some time to come. The companies on this list are responsible for making the discs we all use.
