At the first sign that something might be amiss, the Barretts are awoken by their house alarm in the middle of the night. Upon further examination, they find strange objects stacked to the ceiling in their home, something son Sam says was done by the sandman.

Lacy and Daniel try to figure out what is happening to them following several bizarre incidents. Lacy knows something very strange is happening but at that time cannot make sense of it.

After meeting the Barretts, self-proclaimed expert on this type of paranormal happenings Edwin Pollard asks the family members if they've been experiencing specific events in relation to the strange events. Unsurprisingly, they have.

Something Was Drawing ThemWoman on Phone: "Three different migrations coming from three different directions flew into your house. It's as if something was drawing them into your home."
Following hundreds of birds flying into the Barrett's home, they seek some explanation for the strange event. This was no fluke of nature however as something drove three separate migrations of birds to converge on their home.

The Invasion Already HappenedEdwin Pollard: "People think of these beings invading our planet as some great cataclysm but it's not like that at all. The invasion already happened. You cannot escape them. Sooner or later, when they're ready, they will take your family."
Edwin explains to the family that what is happening to them is inevitable. The Barretts cannot change what is going to happen despite their best efforts.
