Famous Ku Klux Klan Members

List Criteria: Members / Klansmen of the KKK, aka the Hooded Order

List of Famous Ku Klux Klan Members ranked by fame and notoriety. The Ku Klux Klan is a white supremacist organization that was founded in 1865 in Tennessee. The KKK is notorious for their promotion of white supremacy, white nationalism and anti-immigration stances. Known for wearing white hoods and robes, individual KKK members are veiled in secrecy. Here is a list of the most famous Ku Klux Klan members.

Who are the most famous KKK members? Presidents Woodrow Wilson, Warren G. Harding and Harry S. Truman top our list. In the 1920s Truman was encouraged to join the Ku Klux Klan in order to bolster his chances to win a reelection for judge in Jackson County, Missouri. Rumor has it that Truman was a KKK member in name only and did not participate in any activities. Little is known about Wilson's involvement in the group, but there are documents proving his membership.

The individual most famous for his involvement with the Ku Klux Klan is David Duke. Duke has been very open about his activities with the KKK and served as the organization's Grand Wizard in the 1970s.
