Fatal ARCA Accidents: Deaths In ARCA Crashes By Notable Famous Deaths [53 more lists]
Fatal ARCA racing accidents at races that occurred at the Automobile Racing Club championships are listed here. Between July 1982 and October 2002, a total of 11 drivers have lost their lives in American Racing Club of America accidents, 10 occurring during a race and one, the most recent, in a practice session.
The first and by far the most ARCA deaths took place at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama, but others have occurred at race tracks in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, at Daytona Motor Speedway in Daytona, Florida, at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina, and at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio.
ARCA accidents that have resulted in deaths have occurred as recently as 2002 when Eric Martin, a driver from Tennessee, was killed in a collision in Charlotte, North Carolina. The death marked the second for ARCA racing at the track, now known as Charlotte Motor Speedway, at the 11th in the history of the league.
Fortunately, like when deaths occur in leagues like the IndyCar league, Formula2 and WRC, the Auto Racing Club of America takes the incidents as a chance to access and improve safety rules and regulations.
