Female Rappers
As of today, many ladies who rap are just as notable and get just as much buzz for new releases as men, and the female MC is an accepted part of mainstream hip-hop culture. So much so, in fact, that more recent female hip-hop acts like Kreayshawn and Iggy Azalea are more like commentaries on the place for women in rap culture.

Passion
added by: Tunewerks“ Passion is a new American female rapper and producer born in Detroit, Michigan.Passion first entered the music scene in 1997, releasing the song, "Boss Chicks" on an independent label. In 2002, Passion became known in the urban music scene when she won third place in her first rap battle at the Detroit "Hip-Hop Olympics".
During that time she appeared on many songs as a solo artist, until 2003 when she became a member of the Detroit rap group D-Girlz. In 2003, D-Girlz released their first album "City Slickin'" with the club song "Drunk in Da Club" in Detroit. After gaining attention as a group, D-Girlz released two mixtapes: "Raw & Uncut" Vol. 1 and 2. After traveling across the country to Miami, D-Girlz released their first radio single produced by Grammy Award winning composer Khari 'Needlz' Cain titled, "Doin' The Most". After the release, the title became a household phrase in urban music.
In 2008, Passion relocated west to Las Vegas, NV. She began working with 719 Management, headed by Janet Howard, her mother and well known business woman in Michigan. In the fall of 2010, she produced and released her first solo album titled, "Redeye", along with music producer Dee Sirrom. The project featured the singles: "Lovin' My Swagg", "Get Up on Game", and "Supa Soaka" featuring vocal artist Christal Monique. She was responsible for 50% of the overall production and music, and wrote 100% of the lyrics on the project. The music was broadcasted in various cities nationwide, including: Las Vegas, Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles. In 2011, the Michigan State Men's volleyball team used "Supa Soaka" as their team theme song. Since 2010, Passion has remained in top 10 rappers of Las Vegas and the top 50 artists in the Las Vegas area in all genres (according to reverbnation.com).
