Just throwing out some names that actually were really among the BEST of their years, and in some cases, movies that were not ellegible for politcs...

Duuude, Fight Club is such a classic, it should have won something. However, I suppose it has become more and more respected as the years have gone on, so it did not get the recognition it deserved when it first came out. Such a good film.

Agree with most of these (not a horror fan, so won't judge those - and i thought Little shop of Horrors was lame) and thanks for the tip on Camino, will add it to the Netflix.

Half of these movies shouldn't even have gotten air time in a movie theater, yet an Oscar nomination. Borat for an Oscar? Are you high?

High? Have you checked out the Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes score for Borat? Huh? It was a hugely critically acclaimed film that, by chance, also became a b.o. sleeper.

I agree with Jesus. Borat, even though some may see it as silly and/or offensive, is actually a good film. It brings up some extremely powerful issues that no one else has had the guts to point out on film. Sascha Baron Cohen is an acting genius. Not anyone could pull off a film like Borat. But he did just that.

i definitely don't agree with the blaire witch project. although it was kind of creative, it definitely does not belong anywhere at the oscars.

Totally agree with Trainspotting, Hero, Fight Club and Starship Troopers!. Especially Hero, there weren't any controversial points to have kept it out an Oscar run.
