Thanks to Spike Jonze, with help from Maurice Sendak, "Where the Wild Things Are" will finally come to life. A brilliant book that I am sure we all read at least once as a child. "Where the Wild Things Are" took us to Max's imaginative world where we followed him in conquering the ferocious monsters and ultimately becoming King of the Wild Things. Make sure to check it out when it comes out in theatres!BUY @ amazon -

With all the poems in this collection it is often hard to remember specific ones. However, I bet most of us can agree that we do remember the corky topics, vivid imagination, and unique drawings that accompanied the poems. Although this book is considered a children's book of poetry I suggest you take another look at it now as an adult to get a whole new perspective of the brilliant Shel Silverstein.BUY @ amazon
Where The Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends. - 3
Dr. Seuss' witty rhyme keeps your tongue twisted and mind boggled while reading this entertaining story. One of his many classics, "The Cat in the Hat" is a book that made you wish every rainy day that maybe, just maybe, this chaotic cat would come to your house and make the impossible come alive.BUY @ amazon -

A beautifully written book by the talented Shel Silverstein. No matter what age, you cannot help but get sucked into the simple yet profound story of the giving tree. The little tree that gave itself up completely for the little boy it loved.BUY @ amazon - 5
I'm sure a good many of us grew up with the physically stimulating book, "Pat the Bunny." Remember the days when you could simply open the book and rub your delicate little finger on daddy's scratchy beard or stick your finger deep inside mommy's ring. How about playing caressing the soft fur of the bunny or spending hours looking at yourself in mommy's mirror? Well, if you haven't experienced the arousing book of "Pat the Bunny" I suggest you get to it, quick!BUY @ amazon
