Never open a sorority in a house where a psycopath killed his entire family and made turned them into Christmas cookies. Based on a slasher flick of the same name from 1974, the latest version has more of a saw/slasher hybrid feel.The girls in the movie are way hotter, as noted in my buddy greg's list here.

For a Slasher flick, 1984's Silent Night, Deadly Night has developed one of the most rich and actually plausible backstories for it's killer in the pantheon of horror film. Instead of just killing for no reason, Silent Night... fills you in on the Trauma that Billy endures to create the psychosis that leads to his killing spree during Christmas. It's really rather cool, because in a very odd and creepy way, you're rooting for Billy.
