Halloween 2009: Ideas for Party Music By ElaineyO [22 more lists]
Halloween party music is a must at your monster bash this year. This is the time to let out your maximum cheese (I just did in the last sentence). And let's face it, any party where there is drinking involved, people will dance to anything. Sure some people will dance without alcohol in their system, but let's just embrace the fact that it takes some of us a little liquid courage to jump on the dance floor. On Halloween, there is never a set of rules for music. I don't think there are set rules for any holiday, but usually "Monster Mash" gets pretty boring after hearing it for the 50th time. At least here in Los Angeles, people don't care about making the music fit the party. All of our parties will for sure have a mixture of the typical Rihanna/Miley/Britney variety. Nothing wrong with that, but shouldn't people at least try to spice it up a little? The following bands give off that Halloween-y vibe. So for your party, make sure these bands make an appearance, and you will not be disappointed.
- 1Just by the name alone, they scream Halloween.
-
- 2Clowns are the freakiest, don't you agree? I have felt that way since I was born, I swear.
Included just because they dress like it is Halloween whenever they are out making appearances. What a freakin' life. I still have no idea who these guys are. Their music is a little terrifying, an perfect addition to a Halloween party. I have to admit, I can dance to it, so it's not all that bad. - 3Another band that dresses in costume. Their costumes are vomit in the mouth inducing and their sound is monstrous. Perf. Play the song to the left, "School's Out", so everyone can sort of sing along, if they even know what these guys are saying.
-
- 4Duh! Don't even ask me why, but their hard beats and riffs are tantalizing. They clearly put their blood and soul into everything they made.
- 5"Freak on a Leash" was probably my favorite song of 1999. An equally creepy and catchy song, "Word Up" is a cover of the same tune by Cameo, released in 1986. The song pretty much guarantees some male thrusting on the dance floor.
