unfair posts
unfair posts should be illegal. full confession here of my "unlawful" post.
again, let's start with ranker. or what i posted about it (on my iOpine list). i was entirely unfair to ranker by calling this website "inept".
websites are not inept, of course. my wisecrack remark implied blame on the designers of this website.
one of them replied to my post. he (unlike me) used tact and class instead of throwing mud at me. in fairness, i reply to the same group of ppl that i whined to (that would be...everyone.)
instead of kicking me in the pants, ranker responded as if i actually made a well-documented observation. my summary of ranker's reply:
(ranker employee) actually said: as an employee i care about this site.
could have said: it's rude and unfair to whine in writing without even notifying us first.
actually said: can we get details.
could have said: did you actually take time to notice any particulars about your whine?
actually said: we'll take it seriously and fix any mistakes we've made.
could have said: hello! you don't *have* to post here!! but we're going to improve our site anyway.
i know better than this. i was a programmer for years. shame on me. when i got crass criticism about my app's, the root problem was almost always a PICNIC problem: Problem In Chair Not In Computer!!! true here: my lousy attitude.
ranker guys: i apologise for my post. it was unfair and totally useless. and i love how you responded. well done!
as befits a typical whiner, i didn't note the exact particulars. i will review what i've written in previous lists to see if i can recall any (supposed) buggy behavior. and probably: if i'm not noticing it now, very likely it wasn't a bug. PICNIC.
