J Schizoid's Top 20 Vocal Influences By Jason Schizoid
John Bush did his version of Top 20 vocal influences, so I did mine. These are my favorite vocalists, when I'm trying to be better than Jason Smith and channel some greater forces and pass myself off as a tolerable vocalist, this is what I'm tapping into.

The best vocalist possible. I read a review in BWBK that said that his vocals sounded like cats being neutered, that is how I want my vocals to sound. Everything about his vocals is awesome. IF you have "I Like It When You Die", listen to "YOU ____Fill In The Blank____" that song is perfect vocals in every way. -

Axl Rose
This guy commands a stage. He is no pushover. He is a front man in every good and bad sense of the word. His lyrics have so many different layers, whether catering to the infantile or whether building up an estranged house of cards that is all too ready to topple. You will not tell Axl Rose what is what, he has conviction and is a true artist, and even still, has the physical abilities (Look at him running across the stage and then singing 5 minute songs without missing a beat). -

How to condense 2-3 paragraphs into 0:20 seconds? I still don't fucking know but I learned a lot from this guy's awesome vox. It is such a shame that his vocals are put to such bad use on new DRI material with those long wanking solos and guitar parts. He should be sing shouting every second filling up every moment of music with hardly heard syllables.
