Lola: "I know that this looks really bad..."
Anne: "This looks really bad. You're grounded!"
Ah, yes: All coming of age movies feature the Parent discovering that the Kid has thrown a massive party while they're away. In this case, Anne arrives home early to find that her beloved daughter, Lola, has thrown an epic bash, trashing their home. Getting grounded is getting off easy.

Never That Bad
Gran (hugs Anne): "Come here..."
Anne: "I was never that bad, was I?"
Gran: "Well, sometimes you were."
All parents probably wonder if they were as "bad" as their kids -- and yeah, they probably were. Gran pretty much let's Anne know this, in a sweet, motherly way, of course. Eventually, Anne got it together -- and so will Lola.

Lola: "I hate her, look at her -- even her underwear is skankville."
Janice: "I wish I had her a**, though."
Like any typical teenage girl, Lola is consumed with jealousy when her boyfriend dumps her for another girl, Ashley (someone who puts the "skank" in "skankville"). Can Lola move past all of that and into the arms of a boy who really likes her?

What Are You Thinking?
Anne: "A B in Math? A C in History? A D in Biology? Lola, what are you thinking?"
Grades slipping? Yeah, that's a huge problem, and Lola's mom knows it. What is she thinking? She's thinking that life basically stinks, and all she wants to do is party -- Biology just isn't a top priority at the moment.
