Even though you can find a lot on the World Wide Web, you still can't find everything. There exists a genre of videos and recordings known only as Lost Media - videos deemed too inappropriate or too disturbing for the public eye. Though many have tried to seek out the Lost Media listed below, they've proven too difficult to track down. Check out this list of the most disturbing Lost Media of all time, but be warned - a lot of these are highly NSFW.

The Wicked Witch Visits Sesame Street

It may not be as terrifying or disturbing as some of the others on this list, but to a child, one of the most horrifying monsters will always be the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. She scared kids back in 1939 and she continued to scare kids in the 1970s, when the character appeared on a lost episode of Sesame Street. The episode had the Witch lose her broom while flying over Sesame Street and join Big Bird and Oscar in an adventure.

After it aired, there were multiple reports of children being too scared over the broadcast, so the decision was made to never re-air the episode. Nobody knows for sure if the episode still exists somewhere or if it has been destroyed.

A Reporter's On-Air Suicide Video

A Reporter's On-Air Suicid... is listed (or ranked) 2 on the list The Holy Grails of Lost Media

"In keeping with Channel 40's policy of bringing you the latest in blood and guts, and in living color, you are going to see another first: attempted suicide."

Those are the chilling final words of Christine Chubbuck, a news reporter who committed suicide live on-air. After she went off-book with her lines, she pulled a revolver and shot herself behind her right ear. The camera then went quickly to black. She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead 14 hours later.

It was the broadcast that shocked the world, but even though it was a live broadcast, you won't have much luck finding any video of the incident. Most bootlegs have been confiscated and destroyed, as well as the master tape, which authorities turned over to Chubbuck's family, who destroyed it.

The WWF Death Video

The WWF Death Video is listed (or ranked) 3 on the list The Holy Grails of Lost Media

In 1999, tragedy struck during the WWF Over The Edge event, when wrestler Owen Hart fell to his death. A stunt where Hart was supposed to be lowered into the ring went horribly wrong. The harness that was holding him snapped and Hart plummeted 80 feet. The event wasn't recording live over pay-per-view, but cameras were rolling, and they managed to capture Hart's fateful fall.

The video is now rumored to sit in the WWE Archive with the instructions "never to destroy, view or duplicate." The closest thing available was the WWF announcement at the event informing the audience that Hart had died, but that too has been blocked on copyright grounds.

The Columbine Killers' Basement Tapes

The Columbine shooting still stands as one of the nation's darkest tragedies. After the horrific shooting, a Time magazine reporter was given access to five videotapes that the killers recorded beforehand. In the tapes, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold outlined their motives and recited their kill list.

The family members were furious over the possible release of these videos, and everyone agreed that they would be shown to the families, and then stored away indefinitely. Since that time, two of the recordings have been released: one with the killers at a shooting range; and the other, a short film the two made a few months beforehand titled Hitman for Hire. To see the film, check out this link.
