Looking at just a person's sun sign (or main astrology sign) isn't always a sure-fire way to predict true compatibility, but it does give a general idea of which signs are the most harmonious. This list includes all of the zodiac signs, in order, followed by their four most compatible signs. It also includes specifics about the various astrological signs' elements.

Most Compatible Signs: Taurus, Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn
Virgo, the Virgin, is an Earth sign and shares a high compatibility with Taurus and Capricorn (other earth signs). Those born under the astrological sign of Virgo are also compatible with the water signs of Cancer and Scorpio.
Those born under the sun sign Virgo are often shy. They're also extremely practical and analytical individuals. Virgos are known for being very reliable. Negative Virgo traits may include being too much of a perfectionist and/or being overly harsh and critical. - 7
Most Compatible Signs: Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius
Libra, the Scales, is an air sign and, not surprisingly, is compatible with fellow air signs Gemini and Aquarius. In addition, Libras are often compatible with the fire signs of Leo and Sagittarius.
Libras are the great balancers of the zodiac (think of their symbol, the Scales). A Libra is diplomatic and almost all Libras are extremely charming and easygoing. This is a diplomatic sign. On the more negative side, some Libras can be indecisive, self-indulgent and even gullible. - 8
Scorpio
Most Compatible Signs: Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn, Pisces
Scorpio, the Scorpion, is a water sign. Scorpios are typically highly compatible with Cancer and Pisces (other water signs). Scorpio also shares compatibility with the earth signs of Virgo and Capricorn.
Scorpio is one of the most emotional, powerful and passionate signs in the zodiac. Scorpios often have magnetic personalities, and they proceed in almost everything they do forcefully. Negative Scorpio traits may include being somewhat obsessive and resentful -- and also, jealous. - 9

Sagittarius, the Archer, is a fire sign and shares high compatibility with the fire signs Aries and Leo. To a lesser degree, Sagittarius is also compatible with two air signs: Libra and Aquarius.
Those born under the sun sign Sagittarius are honest, straightforward individuals who are often highly intelligent. A Sagittarian may also be very good-natured. On the flip side, negative traits sometimes associated with Sagittarius include blind optimism, restlessness and irresponsibility. - 10
Capricorn
Most Compatible Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, Pisces
Capricorn, the Goat, is an earth sign. Capricorns share a high compatibility with fellow earth signs Taurus and Virgo. To some degree, Capricorn is also compatible with the water signs Scorpio and Pisces.
Capricorns are known for being practical, careful individuals. A Capricorn is quite often very disciplined and reserved as well - those born under this sign always look (and look again) before they leap into anything. Negative traits associated with Capricorns include rigidity and unwillingness to change, and pessimism.
