Not my fave lineup overall, though the Rage Against the Machine reunion was the all-powerful draw for me at the time.

Lotsa bands on this list that I am not a fan of and only saw becuz I was with people who wanted to see them, or there was nothing else to watch.

Ranked by how much I dug em.

    They did not disappoint.

Alternative rock, Rock music, Hard rock More
    Excellent afternoon KOL set.
  5. 5
Rock music, Progressive rock, Post-rock More
Great set. As an instrumental band, wasn't really sure they would "bring it" on the main stage. They did.
  6. 6
Alternative rock, Indie rock, Post-punk revival
Missed the first few songs. Thought Carlos looked ridiculous with his mustache. Interpol is not a particularly great live band but I love their music and was definitely in the mood to see them, so I enjoyed the set. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/interpol/2007/coachella-festival-indio-ca-23d7dc4b.html

I don't remember the details, but remember this set being better than the sets I had seen them play the year before or after at Lolla and Bonnaroo.

    Konono No. 1

Very enjoyable, though it did get slightly monotonous after a half hour or so. Pretty empty tent, somewhat surprisingly. I had thought these guys had transcended past "world music" to "hipster-friendly world music".
  9. 9
Alternative rock, Hard rock, Jazz fusion More
Only caught about half hour of the set. What I did see I didn't like that much, but oddly had loved their Lollapalooza headliner around the same time, so maybe I just caught a lull. The Chilis have always been very hit-and-miss live for me, usually more miss. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/red-hot-chili-peppers/2007/coachella-festival-indio-ca-33d6a0a5.html

    Tiesto

Caught the whole set sitting in the grass. Found them quite enjoyable - have never been a huge fan except for much of the Automatic record. Just have never found them to be particularly memorable songwriters, and the songs didn't exactly shine thru here either - but that thick live sound did. Much better than the only other time I saw them, Lollapalooza '92 where they were miserable playing in the early afternoon and utterly bombed. This was the set where I think Scarlett Johannson appeared on stage - probably for the better I was not very close as if I knew that was her for sure I would've been a bit aghast.
  12. 12
Synthpop, Electronic music, Punk rock More
The buzz set of the fest. I only saw a few songs of a packed tent, so hard to properly rank. I have gotten more into them since the show - I found his first album to be pretty hit and miss, and this was a set from that cycle.
  13. 13
Alternative rock, Rock music, New Wave More
Caught "I Predict A Riot" and one or two other songs, which was perfect, as that song absolutely kills.
  14. 14
Alternative rock, Indie rock, Dance-punk More
Hit and miss, much like their albums are to me.
  15. 15
Electropop, Experimental rock, Indie rock More
    Only caught a few songs.
  16. 16
Alternative rock, Indie rock, Indie pop More
Not personally a fan but I respect this band a lot and the crowd was going OFF. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/arcade-fire/2007/coachella-festival-indio-ca-1bd4f9bc.html
  17. 17
Folk music, Alternative rock, Electronic music More
  18. 18
Alternative rock, Folk rock, Punk rock More
  19. 19
    Alternative country, Country, Reggae More
Love Willie but this was not a career-defining moment. Poor song choices, poor pacing. Wasn't playing very loud, so even on main stage was hard to hear from a ways back as there was a lot of wind and stage bleed. The crowd was bored.
  20. 20
Electronic music, Alternative dance, House music More
The other big hype of the fest. Not my thing, don't really get them, tho they did have a pretty big production.
  21. 21
Alternative rock, Electronic music, Dance music More
    Saw a song or two.
  22. 22
Alternative rock, Rock music, Pop rock More
Yawn. What a total bore this band is live (I only bothered to see them because I was walking that way anyhow, and didn't stay for long).
  23. 23
Alternative rock, Rock music, Pop rock More
I can't stand CH personally but my wife loves them so we caught the full set. She had a great time.
