My Dream Cars to Buy then Restore By Gearhead Car Guy [4 more lists]

These are the dream cars I've always wanted to own for one reason or another. The chances of me ever coming up with the scratch to buy them already restored or in cherry condition is slim and none, so I'm going to have to find them in junk condition and restore them myself.

1967 Chevrolet Camaro

This is the car I've wanted since I was old enough to want to drive. Every male with a pulse wants one of these and I'm no different. If I could have any one Camaro specifically it would be the Better Off Dead Camaro. http://betteroffdeadcamaro.com/

1958 Ford Thunderbird

Classic American auto making at it's best. This is the car you just want to roll down the street in and let people stare. These land yachts inspired a generation to explore the highways.

1968 Dodge Charger

The restyling of the 1968 Dodge Charger is unquestionably one of the best-looking muscle cars, period, with many considering it the best-looking performance car of the 1960s. My obsession with Dukes of Hazzard growing up definitely helps my desire to own this car. The Charger just looks mean, and in a muscle car, mean is good.

1969 Pontiac GTO

I'm not sure I could even handle driving a Judge without wanting to tear up the roads and kill my insurance rates. This is the ultimate socal muscle car. Cruising Sunset or Hollywood blvd in this bad boy would be the greatest feeling in the world.

1968 Ford Mustang

The Mustang had it's first major revamp in 1967, the '68 has few changes, and I'm perfectly willing to take a '68 in my search if it means I get one of these bad boys. Bullitt was one of my all time favorite movies, and that car chase left an impression. The green '68 Mustang he ran rampant through the streets of San Francisco with is a thing of beauty.

1957 Chevrolet Corvette

This is a pipe dream, but a '57 corvette was my dad's car back in the day, and I would love to find one and restore it for him. It's got such a sleek, graceful front end. Graceful is not something you can accuse modern Corvettes of.

1970 Ford Torino

I didn't know much about Torinos growing up, but I knew a ton about Starsky and Hutch. Between that and Cooter's Torino on Dukes of Hazzard, I was sold. It wasn't until very recently I realized Torinos give me the best chance of all the cars on this list.

1957 Ford Fairlane

This is the car I want to be driving when I'm in my 70's and carting around grand kids. The retractable hard top on the '57 makes it ideal. I'm sure you see a crap load of these in Florida.
