912 - The Screaming Skull - Mystery Science Theater 3000

I had to include this one on here for the simple reason that this movie and it's hilarious lack of pacing in any way shape or form was mercilessly mocked the entire time. It's like the entire movie was made to simply kill time. And the skull... the skull. Sorry, I'm giggling just remembering it. I know this one is not on most folks' favorites list. I can't really explain why I love it so much.

907 - Hobgoblins - Mystery Science Theater 3000

I have a soft spot for terrible, terrible, low-budget '80s movies. This one... with that old man (just look at him in that picture) and the utterly ridiculous fight scene between the lead character and that army guy who showed up in his van... man. The commentary on this one is killer from beginning to end.

821 - Time Chasers - Mystery Science Theater 3000

Time travel is inherently funny when taken seriously (as this film does... so, so seriously). The lead in this "film" is inherently funny, and not because he's a comedian (spoiler: he's not). There isn't anything that's not awesome and supremely early '90s about this thing. I kind of love it just for the setting of the 70s style office building they picked for the location.

506 - Eegah - Mystery Science Theater 3000

This episode remains one of my favorites - not necessarily because it was one of the first MSTs I ever saw, but because it is STILL resting comfortably in my memory. The movie consists of a good chunk of stock footage badly spliced in, and a terrifyingly flat-faced leading man with less charisma than his dune-buggy (which shares almost as much screen time). The guys are so funny in this, its another one that provides laughs from start to finish.

301 - Cave Dwellers - Mystery Science Theater 3000

It helps that this movie is funny even without the commentary from the guys. It makes literally no sense, and is so low-budget that I think my sister and I could have made this film when we were kids. I still remember the directions the pie-tin chested girl was given to run for help. "The way is long and hard". Got it. Should have no problem finding my way.

1011 - Horrors of Spider Island - Mystery Science Theater 3000

Yes, the spiders were gut-bustingly funny. But when you give MST3K an island full of scantily clad women in jeopardy, there's no way you're not getting gold. It's not just the built-in misogeny of the whole thing, but also the complete lack of any pacing. It's some of the best MST out there.

817 - The Horror of Party Beach - Mystery Science Theater 3000

God, I love this one. The lumbering hot-dot-mouth monsters...the acting.... the bad-bad-bad filtering to pretend it's night.... everything about this one is a movie that would be awesome even without the guys. Add in their spot-on commentary, and this movie becomes a masterpiece.

424 - Manos, The Hands of Fate - Mystery Science Theater 3000

This one usually tops most peoples' lists. It comes in at number three for me only because the two above it are such completely perfect examples of MST mastery. Of course, Torgo is awesome. The only reason Manos slips a tiny bit is because of the slightly lull in hilarity near the end. Not the guys' fault, really, I mean, you can only watch so much of mystery women writhing in nightgowns before you run out of things to say.

910 - The Final Sacrifice - Mystery Science Theater 3000

"Rowsdower... so, is that a stupid name?" I'm not sure there's a single place where this movie fails. It's one where, the first time I saw it, my stomach muscles were literally sore the next day from laughing. Every damned moment of this thing is funny from credits to credits.

I've probably seen this one more times than any other. If I come across someone who has never seen MST, this is the one I show them. And I'm not kidding, I still laugh the whole way through it. The combo of the reused footage from Battlestar Galactica... the completely INSANE casting (that woman pretending she was a sweet young thing and ROCK! HARDCHEST!) Captain Santa, the woman with the codpiece who died, but then showed up in the next scene, the witches with their Spencer's Gifts electrical ball and Stevie Nicks chiffon... Not one second of this is not hilarious. Not one.
