Notable Iranian Americans

List of famous Iranian-Americans, including Iranians who have immigrated to the US as well as natural-born US citizens of Iranian descent. (Though most of the listed individuals are American citizens, some have dual Iran and US citizenship.) The list includes notable, important Iranian-Americans from a variety of fields and disciplines, including academia, the arts, business, technology, media, journalism, music, politics and sports. The group, as a whole, is occasionally referred to as "Persian Americans" as well. As of 2011, the US has the second-largest Iranian population outside of the nation of Iran, largely due to a sizable wave of immigration from Iran between the years 1980 and 1990 following the Iranian Revolution and the abolition of the Iranian monarchy.
