    The concerned parent is correct.

    Phillips Exeter has been the launch pad for Writers, Journalists, Lawyers, and Politicians. Anybody has a decent chance of being a success in those fields even from a mediocre run-of-the-mill university. Obviously you don't need the Phillips Exeter momentum to get into those.

    Thus far only on real inventive Alum has been Mark Zuckerberg. As far as I'm concerned PAE is nothing without him. Better stick with some other perhaps more skillful Prep School who has a better record of producing creative types outside the above mentioned vocations.

    Is this list supposed to impress me? Their success in their vocations is great, but so what? Where are the real contributors, creators, innovators? I thought PEA was supposed to produce more inventive types.

    None of their success ( exception Mark Zuckerberg ) even warrant the profuse diligence necessary to get accepted into the school ( let alone the cost ).
